The whole family returned from Cannes last night and we had a great time! A HUGE thank you to our friends Scott and Natalie who invited us to be their guests on this trip. We laid on the beach, ate some amazing food, and enjoyed living the high life.
Fig also had a great time in Cannes. We were so happy to learn that he was allowed to be on the beach with us. Fig LOVES the beach. I practically...

Here's a short story about the South of France:
They don't sell club soda in grocery stores.
The End.
Seriously. It's nowhere. I came up with this Cool Summer Cocktail made with cucumber, basil and mint after being inspired by this recipe from Bon Appétit, but for the life of me couldn't find seltzer or club soda. I ended up just using sparkling water, and it was NOT the same.
We decided that...

Welcome to another cold and simple Summer Recipe! I'm preparing this post a week early because there's no doubt in my mind that by today, The Hub, Scott, Natalie and I are sitting on the beach in Cannes sweating our asses off and sipping rosé. Just thinking of this cold, yummy soup is enough to cool me off!
Gazpacho is something that The Hub loves and so I'd been wanting to try my hand at it for some...

Today I celebrate 2 years of being married to my best friend, true love, and partner in crime. People always say that you find "the one" when you aren't looking, and for both me and Michael, that statement was true. I used to laugh when people would say "when you know, you just know" - it sounded so trite! But 3 months into my relationship with Michael, there I was, whispering to my friends as they met him,...

It's been a busy Friday over here in Montpellier. Our overly generous friends, Scott and Natalie, invited us to join them on a vacation to Cannes beginning tomorrow! We're really excited to hit the beach and spend some days living in style on the French Riviera. We'll be in town for 5 days and this trip comes at the perfect time because The Hub and I are getting ready to celebrate our 2 year wedding...

Seeing live music is important part of life for me and The Hub. For God's sake the man's been to 108 Phish shows, 25 of which were in the last 2 years. And the very first conversation we ever had was about a 2-day concert we both attended (before knowing each other), in which I walked 8 miles to get to the venue and then literally slept on a tarp in a field of mud. But that's a story for another time.
What...

My Summer Recipe series continues with another cold, healthy solution to your hot days. Ready for the simplest way to prepare zucchini? I've noticed a lot of Zucchini Salads in cooking magazines and blogs recently so I decided to try it myself. Seriously this is so easy, Figaro could probably do it. You don't even have to cook it! I don't get too excited at the prospect of eating raw zucchini, but I swear,...

With our friend Melina in town this past weekend, we wanted to take a day trip on Saturday to somewhere we'd never been. We weren't sure where to go: Aix? Carcassone? Avignon? Nimes? These are what I like to call "champagne problems." Since Melina and I had spent the previous day traveling by several buses to get to St. Guilhem only to discover when we got there that we'd have to hitchhike to the river...

This is an exciting post because it's the first time I'm using the WordPress iPhone app! I'm so techy here in France.
It's been a really fun few days with my girlfriend Melina in town. We walked all around Montpellier and celebrated Bastille Day with a rooftop party.
Today went to St. Guilhem to go kayaking in the Hérault River. The whole trip was 12 km and the last 4 or so were pretty brutal as we...
