adventures of an american housewife in the south of france

Simple Pleasures: Weekend in Pictures

We had a very nice, relaxing weekend that included a night at Estivales, a double date in Sète, a beautiful Sunday dinner, and lots of Sons of Anarchy.

how much for that doggy in the window?

And on Friday night, something amazing happened.  I finally got the boys drunk enough to convince them that they could in fact, lift of the washing machine, maneuver around the unfortuately placed heater in the bathroom, and get the machine into a more space-friendly position.  The placement of that machine has been driving my OCD brain insane.  I am so happy now.

look at that! it fits perfectly.

Even living in France, it's the still the little, everyday things that I appreciate most.  Like a well placed washing machine.  Or delicious cocktails.  Because in a world that's full of wine with not a drop of club soda in sight, good cocktails are few and far between.

And making a beautiful dinner with friends.  Stéphanie, Simon, Michael and I went to the Sunday market by our apartment, picked up some ingredients and whipped up this incredible meal that was sort of cross between Coq au Vin and Beef Bourgingon.  Dee-lish.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!
