Happy Friday friends! The Hub and I have been really busy this week getting ready for our Crémaillère, which is French for Housewarming Party. If there's one thing we know how to do, it's throw a party and we can't wait to show our French friends! We bought a lot of booze and have been planning the menu for the last week or so.
Speaking of our menu, another missing "creature comfort" that I forgot to...

Hi Friends! Sorry it's been a bit quiet on the blog this week. You missed me, didn't you? I've been doing my best to stay busy while the The Hub's spent the last 7 days in L.A. Here's what I've been up to:
Early morning snuggles with the Bunny
Delicious breakfasts of fresh peaches, vanilla yogurt, and granola
Drinking lots of wine with girlfriends
Making homemade fajitas and guacamole...

I should start off this post by telling you all that I woke up at 6am today and immediately spent the next 10 hours enduring some very frustrating French bureaucracy. So suffice it to say, I'm pretty tired and cranky right now.
Since Michael leaves for another long trip to L.A. again tomorrow (wah!!) we really needed to begin the process of getting our carte de séjour, or French residency card, before our...

Hi Everyone!
Are you as happy as I am that it's Friday? I know I should probably tell you all about how I'm adjusting to my new home. I should tell you how much I love my terrace and windows and blah, blah, blah. That is all true, but I have other things on my mind. You see, I've met someone.
Her name is Teti and she's young, beautiful and Italian. Her father is a surgeon and her mother...

Well it's finally here - Moving Weekend! This afternoon while Michael was on a train from Paris to Montpellier, I went to the apartment, signed the lease and picked up the keys. And I have to be honest, I'm really overwhelmed. Before this new place becomes our home, the whole apartment needs to be cleaned, every single piece of furniture needs to be purchased and assembled, we need to learn how to work all the...

Hi Everyone,
Figgy here! Mom is getting ready to go to a Royal Wedding After Party at the French American Center, so she asked me to update you all on how I am adjusting to life in France. All I know is, after we left San Francisco, we were in a car for a really long time. Mom did her best to keep me comfortable by folding up my favorite UW Badger Snuggie for me to lay on. Mom and Dad were drinking all...

I can't believe that today is already my last day of work...again. It's another bittersweet moment for me because I was really enjoying my new company and new role. Even though I had already worked with this company as my client over the last 5 years, I've learned so much in the past four months as one of their employees. Fig will also miss coming to work with me. It seems like only yesterday he was riding in my...

Happy Friday everyone! Thank you all so much for your kind words of support as we embark on this new step in our lives. We've had lots of questions come up from friends and family in the last few weeks and we thought it would be fun to address them on the blog. If there is anything else you want to know about our move, just ask!
What does The Hub do?
Besides being an awesome husband, he does marketing...

I'm happy to report that Fig is going to be just fine! He spent yesterday at Dr. Sams Clinic in Marin County, who my vet said is one of the best Veterinary Orthopedic Surgeons in the country. The clinic was very large and clean and the staff was super friendly. Obviously they fell in love with Fig instantly. Who could resist this adorable, Bed Beardy face?
Dr. Sams explained to me that in many...

When Figgy's hair starts getting really long, he develops something I call, Poodle Foot. You see, Fig is a Poodle/Shih Tzu mix, but most of the time you can't tell he's part Poodle. But when he starts getting shaggy, his hair starts getting curly, the Poodle in him comes out.
Isn't it darling? Poor Figgy really needs a haircut. He's getting quite shaggy these days. So shaggy in fact that I had to...
