adventures of an american housewife in the south of france

Just Like Home

Remember yesterday when I told you that the weather felt almost San Francisco-ish?  Well, scratch the "ish."   Today has been a full blown San Francisco day with temps in the low 60s and a light, steady rainfall since late last night - I'm loving it!  I busted out my rainboots and took a walk to market to buy ingredients for beef stew.

The rain brought out all the snails which was really cute.

So now I'm slow cooking some beef stew in the dutch oven.  I really have no idea how it will turn out since I could not find beef broth or fresh rosemary, thyme or sage at the market.  I had to improvise.  It could be bad...or it could be good.  Time will tell.

sachets of bouillon instead of beef broth...please be tasty

We're headed over to our next door neighbors house for a drink.  We're very lucky, they have been so generous and kind to us since we got here.  In fact - with their permission - I'm hacked into their wireless internet as we speak. Stay dry my friends!
