When The Hub and I found out in October that the next step in our Life Plan had been indefinitely postponed, I knew that my gig as a full-time housewife was coming to an end. We live in an expensive city, and at that point I had been unemployed for over 5 months. It was time to get back in the job market. I found a great opportunity contracting for an old client of mine until our Life Plan gets back on track,...

Thanksgiving is tomorrow! Thanksgiving is tomorrow! The only bad thing about that is that my favorite holiday will soon be over. I can't wait to stuff my face with deep fried turkey, delicious stuffing, mashed potatoes, and my mini pumpkin cheesecakes. So what should we be drinking with this feast? I did some research that I'd like to share with you on this Hump Day.
This Cooking Light article suggests...

Sometimes I drink white wine. Really! It's true. I know it doesn't seem like it since I am yet to feature a white wine in any of my Hump Day posts, but I do enjoy the occasional white. Most of my whites come from the K&L Best Buy Wine Club, which is a fantastic deal. For $19.95/month (plus shipping and tax) you get a mid-range bottle of red and a bottle of white plus a newsletter containing a brief...

Last Saturday, Kate, Darcy and I attended the Taste Pavilion at the 2nd Annual FoodBuzz Blogger Festival. Held downtown at the Metreon, the event was full of amazing food and drink vendors hoping to be featured on food blogs. We stayed for a few hours, sampling almost every dish and checking out quite a few wines. Here were my personal highlights:

Yes everyone, I was a wine wimp who really only liked the sweet varieties. Due to its typically dry characteristics, I was very reluctant to try red wine. It took me moving to California to really experience red wine to its...

Instead of reviewing a specific adult beverage this week, I decided to tell you all about the amazing experience The Hub and I had wine tasting in Croatia last week.
After living on the California coast for the last 5.5 years AND getting married in wine country, we've done our fair share of wine tasting. The typical experience is to go into a tasting room, pay a nominal fee, and taste about 5 wines that are...

Happy Hump Day everyone! To motivate all my employed readers to make it through the week, I've decided to review some of my favorite drinks each Wednesday. This week I'll be telling you about one of my favorite wines, 7 Deadly Zins Zinfandel.
This mid-priced wine from Lodi, California has everything I like in a red. It's bold, spicy and fruit forward. I recommend letting it breathe for about 30 minutes...
