We're getting ready to celebrate lots of special occasions next week as we embark on the
East Coast Love Tour. Tomorrow morning we're heading back to the U.S. to attend not one, but
two weddings on the east coast! We're so excited to spend another week with our dearest friends that will involve sun (hopefully), kickball, beach time, and of course, LOVE.
Speaking of special occasions, we've got a new wine for that:
Châteauneuf du Pape.

In the summer of 2010 The Hub and I took a roadtrip through the Midwest, finishing up with a week at my parent’s house in Ohio. My mom and I sat on the back deck having lunch and she brought out an expensive, “special” wine from France, a Châteauneuf du Pape. From that moment, I was hooked. Hailing from its own AOC in Provence, it's the most well-known of the Côtes du Rhône wines.
You know how some expensive wines don't really
taste like expensive wines? Well, this one does. It's more light to medium bodied than what I normally like, but it's velvety smooth and goes down so easy. The price is a little cheaper here in France (you can get a bottle for around 20€, whereas the standard price for a bottle of good "during the week" wine is around 6-8€) but they can range from affordable to over the top expensive in the U.S.

Try it. Learn it. Love it. Bring it to your next special occasion!
