Last night, after 39 days of homelessness, we spent the first night in our new apartment. We have a
long way to go before we're fully unpacked and settled in, but it felt really good to be in a bed that's our own. We've been hard at work over the last few days shopping for all our furniture, packing up our belongings at the hotel and bringing everything over to the new apartment.
our rental van - almost as big as Penny!
a nutritious lunch at Ikea, complete with rosé - obvi.
building chairs for the kitchen table
Every single muscle in my body aches, but there's still much to be done. Almost everything in the house is from Ikea, which is cool because it's so cheap, but it also means we have to build everything ourselves. We've managed to put a few important pieces together. We've gone from this:
The Hub and the couch
to this:
completed couch!
And from this:
half a bed
to this:
our bed!
I can't wait to show you all the rest of our home very soon, but it's still in complete shambles with boxes (full and empty) absolutely everywhere. But don't worry, I'll be putting together a "Home Tour" post once it is complete!
Back to work!
Good luck with the rest of the furniture assembly! We have the same duvet cover from Ikea! Ha!
