A Typical Weekend – No Matter Where You Are

Is there anything better than friends, sunshine, sangria, and lawn games?  I think not.  So that's how we spent our Saturday.  We could have been in San Francisco, we could have been in Madison, we could have been in Montpellier.  Anytime you combine friends, sunshine, sangria, and lawn games, it feels like home to me. The Hub and I made a big batch of sangria on Saturday morning and we headed out with friends to the "Rive du Lez" - the river near our house - to spend a beautiful Saturday in the park.

We have a lot of exciting things going on this week.  Tomorrow we're heading to Sur La Mer - a music festival - to see Arcade Fire and TV on the Radio.  Then on Thursday, our very first house guest arrives!!  Our dear friend Melina will be staying the weekend and we'll be going to Estivales (more on that this Hump Day!), the beach, and maybe Carcassonne.  We're so excited to finally have the opportunity to show our new town to a friend! It continues to be insanely hot here, so I'll be starting a bit of a "Summer Recipes" series where I'll (finally!) be sharing new recipes with you all and showing you how we're eating well but staying cool.  On the list:  Fish "Taco" Lettuce Cups, Gazpacho, Cucumber-Rum Cocktails, and Zucchini Salad.  Stay Tuned!
