In the spirit of embracing our move to France, I have been trying my hand at a few classic French dishes, like the Salmon en Papillote. Last weekend I decided to make Coq au Vin for The Hub, Kate and Shawn.
Do you think it's beautiful? Well you better, because it took me almost SIX HOURS to make it. It was a labor of love that was really, really delicious. The French sure know how to develop flavor...

In April 2008, The Hub and I took a trip to Jamaica to attend our friend's wedding in her hometown of Montego Bay. We had a really fun time chilling on the Caribbean, experiencing the local culture and eating some amazing homemade island food! We stopped at roadstand after roadstand for some spicy, authentic Jerk Chicken - one of our favorite parts of the trip!
Ever since that trip, The Hub...

This decadent dish was featured on the cover of the January/February issue of Cooking Light and I have been eyeing it for weeks. A slightly "healthier" version of the traditional saltimbocca, this recipe does not call for cheese or dredging the meat in flour and frying in a lot of oil. Instead it relies on the saltiness of the thinly sliced prosciutto and the tangyness of the lemon to create a rich...

One of The Hub's favorite things to do is throw a whole bunch of random things in a crockpot and see what happens. Surprisingly, his concoctions are usually very successful! I like to call these meals Crockpot Creations. Today I'm going to share a creation that we made last week and transformed into 3 different meals. I call this creation, Pollo Loco.
You'll need:
4 chicken breasts
6 cups of...

Sometimes I drink white wine. Really! It's true. I know it doesn't seem like it since I am yet to feature a white wine in any of my Hump Day posts, but I do enjoy the occasional white. Most of my whites come from the K&L Best Buy Wine Club, which is a fantastic deal. For $19.95/month (plus shipping and tax) you get a mid-range bottle of red and a bottle of white plus a newsletter containing a brief...

Like a lot of people in their late twenties/early thirties, many of my friends are starting families - it's such an exciting time! I just can't get enough of cute, adorable babies, as long as they aren't my own.
You may remember a few weeks ago when I made these Rattle Cupcakes for my dear friend Randi's baby shower. As her due date quickly approaches, my other friend Jill just gave birth to an adorable son...

The Hub and I just got back from a 10 day European adventure and it was amazing! I can't wait to blog all about it and share my favorite travel spots with you. But for now, we're just working on getting back into the swing of things and recovering from jetlag before we hope on a plane again next week.
We've been a little hectic this week so I wanted something very simple and fast for dinner. Gourmet Garden...

Whenever it’s been a long weekend of drinking and stuffing my face, like this past weekend, I like to detox with a big, giant salad. This warm salad is hearty enough that it will fill you up like a true meal, but low cal enough that you don’t have to feel as guilty as you have the last few days of binging. It’s super easy, so try it out!
Ingredients: Just put in as much of each thing as you feel...
